One of the greatest values of mentors is the ability to see ahead what others cannot see and to help them navigate a course to their destination.” — John C. Maxwell

Frequently Asked Questions

More About What We Do

How does the mentorship scheme work?

The Global Health Mentorship Scheme is a 5-month scheme that pairs passionate UCL students with experts in the global health field, ranging from PhD candidates to the WHO workforce. The mentorship takes the form of informal meetings and communication between the student and mentor, where students are provided a platform to ask questions and gain insight and advice about a career in Global Health from their mentor. Timing, frequency and location of these meetings are flexible and will be up to the discretion of each pairing. However, students and mentors will be expected to meet virtually or in person for a minimum of 3 sessions.

At the end of the scheme, all mentors and mentees will be invited to celebrate the wrap-up of the programme in a mini-conference/drinks reception! On satisfactory completion, a certificate of participation in the mentorship scheme will also be issued.

When does the 2023-24 mentorship scheme run?

This year's scheme is a 4-month programme running from February to May 2024.
