About the Event
In collaboration with UCL Indian Society, UCL Students for Global Health would like to invite you to our joint charity fundraising dance class!
All proceeds will go to the Maternal Aid Association (MAA) which provides medicine, resources and education to mothers and young women in poverty and war stricken societies, in hopes of improving maternal healthcare and empowering the next generation. Each year a group of medically trained volunteers from the UK set up health camps with follow up care being given every two months after.
Currently 99% of maternal mortality occurs in the developing world, with pregnancy being the 3rd leading cause of death for Bangladeshi women. MAA aims to reduce these figures through simple and sustainable healthcare made available in resource poor areas.
