About the Event
Come join us at 5:15pm in the LT2 room of the Cruciform Building on Tuesday the 18th of January, for a screening and discussion! Sister: an intimate portrait of a global health crisis is a 1h25-long documentary exploring the lives of three maternal healthcare workers in Ethiopia, Cambodia and Haiti. Vibrant images follow them as they encounter poverty, lack of transport, lack of education, and the strategies they put in place to deal with crisis. This film truly highlights the human rights issue of maternal mortality and how local ingenuity allows individuals to power through obstacles.
